Fair-Play Certification

Fair-play certification (sometimes called “independent audit seal” or “third-party certification”) is a badge issued by an accredited auditor confirming a casino’s games run on audited RNG and pay out at the stated RTP.

Common certifications

• eCOGRA — most-recognised UK-based seal. Audits both games and operators.
• GLI (Gaming Labs International) — US-based; widely accepted in North America.
• iTech Labs — Australian-based; common at offshore operators.
• BMM Testlabs — global; older-established.
• NMi (Netherlands Measurement Institute) — EU-focused.

What the certification actually covers

Games: individual slot titles are tested against their claimed RTP. Certificate confirms the mathematical model matches the paytable. Renewed annually.

Operators: the casino’s overall operation is audited for game integrity, RNG source, and player-fund segregation. Rarer than game-level certification.

What certification does NOT cover

• Your individual session outcome. Certification is statistical, not per-play.
• Whether the operator will actually pay withdrawals. RNG integrity ≠ operator solvency or willingness.
• Withdrawal delays, KYC disputes, T&C changes. These are operator conduct issues; auditors don’t check them.

The seal you see on the casino footer

Most casino footers display multiple audit seals. Click them. A legitimate seal links to the auditor’s verification page showing the operator’s current certification status.

If clicking the seal doesn’t go anywhere (or goes to a broken page), the seal is fake. This is a red flag for the whole operator.

Verifying an eCOGRA certification

Visit ecogra.org and enter the operator’s licence details. The verification page shows the operator’s current status. Legitimate certified operators appear; expired or revoked certifications show a warning.
