EV (Expected Value)

The average amount you win or lose per attempt over an infinite number of repetitions.

Also known as: expected valueexpectation

The long-run average outcome of a wager or bonus attempt, weighted by probability.

EV = Σ (outcome × probability)

For a bonus attempt, EV = expected cashout minus what you put in. Positive EV = mathematically worth attempting; negative EV = statistically a losing proposition.

Real slot play is negative-EV (the house edge guarantees it). The bonus-hunting question is whether the bonus grant is larger than the expected loss from clearing it. For a €100 bonus with 40× wagering at 96.5% RTP, expected loss ≈ €140 → EV ≈ −€40.

CasiMath publishes EV under representative assumptions for every tracked bonus at /bonuses.
