Progressive Jackpots
Slots contributing a percentage of every bet into a shared prize pool that grows until someone wins it.
How Progressive Jackpots works
A share of every bet on a progressive jackpot slot feeds a jackpot pool. Pool grows until triggered (usually randomly, sometimes on a specific bonus outcome). Jackpots can be single-game (contained on one slot title) or network (shared across many operators — Microgaming's Mega Moolah, NetEnt's Mega Fortune). Typical base-game RTP is 88-93% — the missing 3-5% is what funds the jackpot.
How to play Progressive Jackpots slots
Jackpot slots have negative EV in the base game. The whole positive-EV story is in the jackpot hit — and hit rates are once per 5+ million spins for network jackpots. Play jackpot slots for entertainment only, never as a bonus-clearing strategy. Some operators explicitly exclude jackpot slots from bonus wagering.
