How Hold-and-Spin works

Hold-and-spin is a bonus feature where landing 6+ special "cash" symbols on a base spin triggers a respins round. The cash symbols lock in place; each respin can add more cash symbols (which extend the round by resetting the respin counter) or expand blank symbols. Round ends when respins expire. Named after the Aristocrat Lightning Link mechanic. Pragmatic Play, Playson, BGaming, and many others have their own versions.

How to play Hold-and-Spin slots

Bonus rounds have a bimodal outcome distribution: quick 3-4x bet outcomes when only a few cash symbols land, or ~500-2000x bet outcomes when the round fills up. Base game between bonuses is usually low-return; the whole slot is designed around the bonus round hit rate.
